Optical Octopus

A FUSION OF ITALIAN & JAPANESE CUISINE

Ingredients

2 Serving Size

Octopus (300 g or 2 cups)

Orange Cherry Tomatoes
(200 g or 1 cup)

Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
(30 g or 2 Tbsp)

Garlic (1 clove)

Fresh Spicy Red Pepper (1)

Basil Leaves

Salt

Shirataki Noodles
(2 packages)

 

Step-by-Step

Put a large pot of water over high. When the water starts boiling add a pinch of Salt.

Prepare the Octopus by cleaning it and boiling it for about 30 minutes.

Wash the Orange Cherry Tomatoes and cut them in half. Put them aside.

Chop the Octopus into small pieces.

Heat Extra-Virgin Olive Oil in a skillet frying pan and then add a crushed Garlic clove and Fresh Spicy Red Pepper. Sauté for 1-2 minutes on a medium-low heat until Garlic turns golden.

Add the chopped Octopus to the skillet frying pan and sauté for about 5 minutes.

Add the Orange Cherry Tomatoes to the skillet frying pan and cook for about 10 minutes until the Orange Cherry Tomatoes melt.

Shirataki Noodles Preparation: Drain in a large sieve and wash under cold fresh running water Shirataki Noodles for about 2-3 minutes. Rinse them and boil them in a large pot with salted water for about 2 minutes.

Use tongs to move Shirataki Noodles and put in the skillet frying pan together with the sauce. Stir-fry and toss for about 3 minutes. Taste and adjust Salt. Add Basil Leaves.

Serve at once using tongs. Garnish with Basil Leaves, and serve wrapped around Octopus Tentacle and Orange Cherry Tomatoes purée.
